Cooking with Apple Cider Vinegar Powder
Vinegar is widely used in recipes around the world. It’s great for pickling vegetables, but can also lend a great deal of mouth-watering flavor to foods you love to prepare.
Apple vinegar has a very distinctive, richly sour flavor and in powder form is even more concentrated. To reconstitute, simply add 1 part powder to 1.5 parts water. Or add directly into your dry rubs and weep with joy when your pulled pork comes out better than ever before.
We think you’ll find our apple cider vinegar powder is highly versatile, capable of enhancing flavor in everything from moist and decadent baked goods, to glazes, seasoning blends, and (you guessed it), smoothies. Wait. You didn’t guess that?
Just to give you a kick-start, here are a few suggestions for how to use that powder you’ve just put in your cart. (Wink.)
Glazes and marinades: the next time you prepare to make juicy ribs, steaks, chicken or vegetables, try adding our cider vinegar powder to your marinade. You’ll be so happy you did.
Snacks: mix up the flavors of the seasoning you use on tasty treats like fries, potato chips, and nut mixes. For mouthwatering potatoes, sprinkle a little apple cider vinegar powder over the tops along with salt, pepper, and your favorite Burma Spice herb (plug alert). Drizzle with olive oil. Cover and shake. Now repeat after us. “Mmmmmm…”
Sauces, dressings, and dips: think BBQ sauces, salad dressings, hummus, bean dip…the ideas are limitless really.
Soups and stews: add some tang to your chilies, stews, and soup bases to make your tongue stand up and do a little dance.
Healthy smoothies: add 1 – 2 teaspoons of powder to your berry smoothie. It’ll blend right in (pun intended).
Baked Goodies: who would have thought that apple cider vinegar powder could help make the most amazing pound cake, muffins, doughnuts, and chocolate cupcakes? Not to mention sweetbreads, tarts, and other pastries. It is entirely possible we were hungry when we wrote this, but hey, we’re on a roll. Oh, and yes (ahem) rolls. This category wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t include the cinnamon goodness of sweet rolls.
Now that you have some great ideas for using our vinegar powder, we hope you go forth and create delicious meals. Please do come back and tell us how many awards your cooking (or baking) won.
One last tip before you go: apple cider vinegar powder has been known to remove the smell of onions from your hands. Let us know if that worked for you. If so, just that tip alone is worth the price of admission.
