Egyptian Cuisine

Egyptian cuisine is very vegetarian friendly, with many dishes consisting of legumes, vegetables, fruits and grains. There are meat dishes as well, however, even meat lovers won’t be thinking about beef when spooning layers of heartily seasoned, savory and sweet dishes into their happy mouths. We have a variety of recipes for the most popular Egyptian dishes—including their national dish, kushari, as well as ful mudammas and a uniquely Egyptian tahini halawa fudge. For meat lovers, we also have hawawshi, a tasty lamb or beef stuffed pita.
